Marvel’s Infinity Chronological, starts with (Phase One) Iron Man (2008) and ends up with (Phase Three) Spiderman Man Far from Home (2019). Now, after Infinity Chronicles ends, the six Infinity Stones are missing the main MCU Chronology, i.e. MCU’s Multiverse chronology. Which was last seen In Avengers: Endgame (2019) in a Time heist to recall the half of the population that was wiped out by mad Titan Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War (2018).
A total of six Infinity Stones Are there in the MCU, and each of them has its own power and belongs to a specific Universe, Thor (2011) post-credit scene introduces Tesseract, a.k.a the Space Stone. The Avengers (2012) debuted Mind Stone, With Loki’s stick. Thor: The Dark World (2013) introduced Malekitht Seek a.k.a Reality Stone. Guardian of the Galaxy introduced the Power stone. Doctor Strange (2016) introduced Time Stone as a Mystic Art, and Sole Stone debuted in Infinity War. Seeing Their importance they aren’t part of MCU’s Multiverse chronology so far.
The Destruction of the Infinity Stones
In Avengers Infinity War, the big threat of the Infinite Chronicle “Thanos”, brought all the six stones together. He wanted. to wipe out half the population to balance the universe, which is suffering from overpopulation and resource depletion, with a snap of his finger. This led to extensive damage across the universe, as trillions of lives were extinct, pushing the cosmos into half decades of unending chaos and turbulence. Earth’s superheroes, which were left, after the snap of Thanos’s finger, heroes, hope to avoid this turbulence as they found Thanos three weeks after his snap to collect the 6 infinity stones to reverse the disaster.
They found Thanos in his “Garden”, a world in which he hoped to retire, The Avengers saw that he destroyed Infinity Stones. The Mad Titan Thanos says a famous line “I used the stone to destroy the stones” ” two days ago, with another snap of a finger”. Thanos made the universe how he needed it, Due to it, the Avenger’s plan to reverse the disaster has been hampered.
After half a decade, the Avengers meet once again in “Time Heist” to collect six infinity stones from various time periods, to bring the half-destroyed Universe to Avengers Endgame.
Why Destroying The Infinity Stones Didn’t Destroy The Universe?
Avengers: Endgame Time Hiest, Iron Man, Captain America, Ant-Man and Hulk travel to New York in 2012, During the final battle between Loki and the Avengers. Ironman, Captain America and Ant-Man moved in search of Space and Mind stone, On the other hand, Bruce Banner met with Ancient One to collect a time stone. As the Ancient one, the one of the Master of Mystic art, his aim is to protect the time stone anyhow. The conversation between Ancient One and Bruce Banner, Ancient one suggests, that the removal of the Infinity Stone from the Universe could lead to a disaster. However, such consequences have not materialized in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the Infinity Stone destruction in Endgame.
When Thanos destroyed Six Infinity Stones, he didn’t destroy completely. But he broke them down into tiny particles or atoms, which means that the energy and power of the stones might still exist in the MCU, even though the stones are no longer in their solid form. It was shown that Reality Stone was in liquid form in Avengers: Infinity War. So it’s possible that infinity stones can stay and fulfill their stuff, even when they are not in their usual solid form.
Does Infinity Stones Exist Across The Multiverse?
As the Infinity Stones aren’t part of MCU’s Multiverse chronology, they still play a role in other alternate realities. All stones with unique abilities still have importance in other universes. In Avengers: Endgame all stones were collected in Time Heist to bring the half universe and then returned back to their own timeline after the final battle against Thanos.
The Mind and Time Stone returned to New York in 2012.
The Space Stone returned back to a military base in 1970.
The Power and Soul stones were returned to different places in 2014.
The Reality Stone was returned to Asgard in 2013.
